Where
Hike and camp amidst the  breathtaking beauty of Zion National Park for four day, and three nights of adventure . Explore... Inside and Out at one of the nation's most spectacular parks.

What
Throughout the journey, University Heritage Society will guide you through a series of sequenced workshops. Through these workshops, individuals will explore risk-taking, leadership, problem-solving, collective responsibility, and communication, while working towards a common, tangible goal. These activities will naturally compel participants to grow and recognize fears that may block personal achievement. Participants gain skills in cooperation, collaboration and interdependence in goal achievement while facing challenges. The wisdom and skills that are developed while participating will readily transfer to everyday experiences, creating a solid foundation for a lifetime.

How
There will be two seasoned Outward Bound facilitators who are experts in wilderness skills as well as personal growth workshops.  These courses focus on developing individual human potential. Two Heritage Retreats educators will enrich these lessons by adding a dimension of Jewish understanding and enable participants to explore their life experience through a Jewish lens.

Accommodations
A base camp will be utilized for daily living activities including meals, workshops and tent sleeping. However, this trip is not a traditional backpacking or back country journey. Each day will combine group challenge based initiatives, hiking and camping, as well as quiet times for personal reflection. Hiking and wilderness skills will be taught. Usage of a base camp allows access to supplies, transportation and the ability to access any resources that may be needed from town. (If there is general interest and group consensus to stay in a lodge within the park that may be arranged as well.)

Cost
Approximately $850 a person which includes Kosher food and essential equipment for lodging of the base camp but does NOT include airfare. We will fly in and out of Las Vegas McCarran International Airport.

When
May 31st -June 3rd (Sunday to Wed.) We are not considering later into the summer because it is typically too hot for outdoor activities especially in June, July and August.

Who
This trip is geared towards male professionals who would like the opportunity to decompress and experience the serenity of nature and glean a greater understanding of themselves through workshops that speak to our personal development through a Jewish perspective.
